Vaishno Devi is a manifestation of the Hindu Mother Goddesses. Every year more than million people plans to visit this holy place. But among those many don’t know that how to reach there. Do you know? Not to worry even if you don’t know. Here we bring to you the modes of transport that can easily take you there. If you want to visit the holy destination of Vaishno Devi, you have to first reach Katra which is a small town. It is located at a distance of 46kms from Jammu, the capital of Jammu and Kashmir. Katra is the base camp. Jammu is connected to most of the important cities and town of India via road, rail and air.
Route via Road :
Jammu is very well connected through roads. There are highways like the National Highway No 1A that goes to Srinagar. Many buses run over the roads of Jammu daily. Delux buses are also available. State Board Corporations and other private companies also run their buses which connect Jammu to other important cities of North India. So if you wish to enjoy the nature in-between Vaishno Devi and your town then that’s also very comfortable.
Route via Rail :
One can always rely on trains for reaching Katra and taking the bless of Vaishno Devi Maa. Trains are one of the most economical and serene modes of transport. Going by a train will also give you a comfort in your journey as compared to roadways. There are a number of passenger trains that connect a number of cities to Jammu. Railway also introduces special trains during the peak time, keeping in mind the comfort of passengers. We also have superfast trains. Trains like Jammu Mail and Jammu Rajdhani can take you to Jammu overnight.

Route via air :
Jammu is also well connected to the rest of India via planes. Their are daily flights to Jammu. It takes approx 80-90 min of time to reach Jammu from New Delhi. Many cities don’t have direct flight assistance but not to worry, you have options with connecting flights.
Passenger coming via railway or plane will have to halt at Jammu. If you are interested then you can visit the beautiful temples, parks and monuments in Jammu or you can continue your journey till Katra via road or local trains. For passengers travelling via road or their own transport can easily reach Katra. Sometimes in Jammu and Kashmir law power declares curfew, so before traveling you should be confirm about that.
